HOST CLUB PLOTTING

okay, so this is a separate post for anything related to the host club player-run event!

as most people know, we're currently trying to raise funds to rebuild the dorms! thanks to everyone's genius minds and ishimaru's eventual approval, we got the go-ahead to make a host club/maid cafe hybrid, so everyone can get involved. the initial plan is for the log to go up on saturday, 10th of july, but of we're open to discussion on that as well.

now, rika and ishimaru are the organizers, but not everything can be done with two pair of hands! so they're def looking for volunteers and helpers to put all of this together. this will be a two-classroom deal, so they need people to help set things up, help out with making the food, as well as help out with the costumes. ofc anyone is free to join as a host/maid, too! uniforms are provided, and if you want your character to wear something they normally wouldn't, feel free to blame it on costume mixup or whatever, go wild... be free...

on another note, we also need to set up some booths to entertain our clients! if your character wants to take initiative and contribute in any way, or set up a booth with something to collect money, too, feel free to throw the idea at me and i'll include it in the event writeup! every booth will need to be pre-approved by ishimaru, but other than that, go wild... be... free... this is our kibou hen. as a blanket warning rika is still kinda uncooperative so you'll probably have better luck getting ishimaru's help but listen,

Canned Food Drive!!!

While the Host Club/Maid Cafe is happening, Senku wants to put together a canned food drive so that we’ll also have food for the month of August! With a lack of students there to mooch off of, it’s gonna be tough, so he wants them all to be prepared!!

i threw a maid outfit at nene, she's ready! (just be sure to help cover up the obvious signs of lots of crying with makeup.) she can also help provide baked goods to serve, and will happily assist in cleanup afterwards. she doesn't trust herself making coffee however, especially if hanako is around because he doesn't understand food and edibility anymore. ask me about the cafe side chapter sometime.

this might be a horrid month for noah to help out so this might be up in the air for him, but he can do sleight of hand tricks since he's a pretty deft kid. i am shoving him in a maid dress. so everyone come find you entertaining catboy in a maid dress doing funky fresh tricks for money he can probably juggle knives too but that's ~dangerous~

too lazy to switch journals but I do recall promising that if rika begs enough lucifer will put on the maid dress too! lucifer can also handle more gourmet-style cooking and sell that sort of thing at the event. nothing too ridiculous like caviar and duck a la mode or w/e but nothing cheap either?? also lucifer is Very Hot and has no issues playing the Host role so that'll be fun

She'd be really terrible at doing host things because she's a bossy and impolite person who would be more likely to critique your table manners then tell you how handsome you are...but some people like that. In terms of contribuiting outside of that...if anyone has a sword she could borrow she could show off some cool kendo tricks. Otherwise I think she'd just be happy helping Ishimaru with paperwork if he needs it.

Ishimaru is here to help run things! He essentially wants to keep things as wholesome and family-friendly as possible. Of course, it is also possible to talk him into bending his rules here and there, or to trick him. In one free time event, Ishimaru tries to get Naegi to stop wearing his hoodie indoors, only for him to end up making an exception because he believed that it could be used like a helmet to protect him... so yeah, it is possible to get some things by him!

He'll mostly focus on behind the scenes stuff, but he may also dress up and try out shifts as a very proper host here and there!

Hinata will probably have to be gently encouraged or forcibly signed on, but once he does he'll work hard at it. he is canonly atrocious at flirting so that's how that will probably go, but he's got the boy-next-door charm so maybe that'll carry him somewhere??? he'll also be pretty decent at actually serving food and anything else needed to help out.

HELLO I'm here to say that Shuichi could be in charge of a small Lost & Found corner at the event. Basically there are two sides to it:

1. If anyone loses or finds items AT the event itself, they can be brought to him and he'll make sure to safekeep them until the owners come looking for them, or otherwise he'll try to track them down later on. It's ok you can trust him not to believe randos who might try to take your stuff. He's pretty good at not falling for bs.

2. The part that might actually make money -- he'll offer his services to find lost items in general for anyone, he'll search around school premises for you (and he can also go in the yard). This can mostly be handwaved wrt the school population as a whole, but if anyone WANTS to thread something like this out, I'm game! I think it'd be fun.

If you wanna set something up yourself feel free to, I'll do my best to use Shuichi to solve it for you -- but we can also do it the opposite way! Aka you come to me with a lost item idea and where it was last seen, and then your character can go with him to search and I'll make up something nuts for what happened to it and where we find it instead.

I like both solving problems and creating them so it works out... hit me up if anyone wants! If there's interest, I'll probably put up something for it for real when the IC log itself goes up, to keep this organized there.

i keep forgetting desum exists, BUT NANAMI is here to help with cooking / cleaning since shes not really good at much else in situations other then from the background! Esp with hinata, turing, etc friends joining on im sure she would wanna help Turing too or the others in the back with stuff .. maybe sometimes just pass out sleeping bc shell be busy making the game to help with dorms too

Legion would be terrible as a host, and probably isn't the best choice for running a booth either, but they'd be willing to help out with setting things up before and cleaning them up after. They have no need for dorms, but they know that other people would really benefit from them so they would be happy to help.

for liz, snowcones........ it's kind of Damages May Ensue using thanatos' aoe bufudyne spell but think about it, that means there's more ice to work with, it's fine. i think it'd be cute to sell snowcones since it's so hot... she can also help rika out with any chores she needs done or threats she needs delivered, since thanatos is very intimidating :) and please let her give semi-insulting names/descriptions to the hosts/maids, there can be a list of "who you can expect to see" or whatever and we can put them there.

as for natsume

1. a bake sale, since he's canonically good at baking... let him make treats. he'd probably also want to set up a fortune-telling and charm-selling stall, with a bunch of little handmade charms for protection, good luck in [whatever], etc.

but the caveat is

2. has to work at the host club/maid cafe but as a maid not a proper host because he hates crossdressing and this is a good punishment :3c
