hello! amami is a rough one who has seen komaeda at his most vulnerable, about three times? maybe four. it really is that post of someone cutting the rock, and you don't see how much your work has affected that person until the final moment :), there's going to be a day where amami touches the rock, and it cracks open and he'll see whatever is beautiful or disgusting inside of komaeda.

anyway, komaeda doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, but amami knows best of how komaeda probably is aside from like his very close castmates. he found this out through his own effort without komaeda even talking about it which komaeda would give praise too if he wasn't embarrassed or nervous.

komaeda, does, strictly love amami for his talent, like he's so smitten so he means it when he says he loves him — not for the right reasons, but komaeda does care about him. because of that love, he tries to force their roles into being master/servant, important/non important because he feels that amami should be above him. it scares him when amami tries to put them on equal level because he's unable to compare to amami who is so well loved and valued among their peers, and komaeda doesn't want to ruin that for him.

in terms of hope too, which i have to think about his previous hope dealings, he's a very bright person to komaeda — you know how when you look up to the sun, and it burns your eyes, but you can't make it out... he can make this out, and it doesn't burn, and i think with all the ultimates, he might feel the most comfortable in his glow where he doesn't put up his defense immediately. everyone else he's like someone walking on glass, ready to cut his flesh just to get to them, but he doesn't really have that going with amami as much anymore? like sure, he still has freak behavior, but you can see he's... better than what he used to be, i think that shows?
