Ranger danger has Alice feeling extremely conflicted. On the one hand, Ranger during the Death Game is impossible to forget, and Alice can't forgive Asunaro for everything that has taken place, and Ranger specifically for what he can probably remember enough of, but on the other hand, Ranger in Yogen immediately turned all of that on its head. So far, everything that Alice has been observing of Ranger here keeps reinforcing this impression, so he feels kind of stuck in an uncomfortable state of not knowing how to reconcile Afterlife Ranger with Death Game Ranger. He's wondering if there's been some reprogramming going on somehow, since current Ranger seems almost like a genuinely responsible person, going by murder meetings and now the Midori discussion and pool horror adventures.

There's also the fact that Ranger is around Star 4 often, and he and Komaeda seem to be close friends?! So whenever Ranger visits, Alice probably leaves them to have their friendship time, which raises questions like what do they get up to... maybe Ranger and Komaeda find and play with the cats, who knows..... (He definitely also has to wonder whether Ranger would have stabbed him for Komaeda, if Komaeda hadn't told Kobato to use his blood, but he wouldn't be sure of the answer to that question.)

All of it combined makes for a "is this Ranger if he hadn't been programmed a certain way before / is he actually looking out for people??? / but that doesn't change what happened SO NOW WHAT" conundrum, and like you said, there's absolutely a lot to unpack, which should be interesting when they get the chance.

Please do attack Alice with AInami, I'll be keeping an eye out for any opening as well! At the moment, he's just "Chiaki Nanami has a twin sister?" after the murder discussions, so I'm down for them meeting properly.
