HMM WELL. Nanami's had a sense that Something Happened to Riika since their first encounter together. Riika knew just a little bit too much about how to help her, and acted just a little too adult (at least at first) for Nanami not to notice. The reveal was horrifying and NOT anywhere near what Nanami expected, and yet Nanami's really touched and honored that Riika feels comfortable enough to open up to her.
She also just loves spending time with Riika in general - they're both game freaks and they've spent a lot of time doing that at this point - Nanami dragged Riika to game club a lot pre-Disney, and they spent a lot of late nights playing on the hotel N64. She doesn't know what to... do about this kid who also sort of isn't a kid, but she knows how to treat a friend, a fellow game enthusiast, and somebody who's having a hard time sometimes, and she's glad to be able to be there for Riika in all of those capacities - even without Riika explaining every little thing about herself.
