Inaba: It's mutual like! Shin does like working with Inaba, insecurities about their respective skills aside, and likes that she seems a very straightforward and direct person. I think it does say a lot that when he was at his most paranoid he was still combing over things with her and Ranger. I'm crying at her thinking him reliable I love that so much.
He's becoming aware that all is not well in Inaba land and is starting to realise some measure of her own distrust, which puts him in the weird position of being on the opposite end of it for once (that other dog in the mirror, who is she). He's made stabs at being friendly even outside of the sort of comfortable tech/investigative partnership but drops them fairly quickly when rebuffed. It's tricky because he knows the 'why are they being nice to me' suspicion well so he knows not to push it, but also not what else to try, other than just keeping an eye out and telling her to get rest.
